No matter our political affiliation, most of us can agree that the tax code needs reform. It’s way too long, way too complex, and doesn’t achieve its goals.
The Hill released the results of a recent poll by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that showed 7 out of 10 voters want bipartisan teamwork to overhaul the tax code. Taxpayers are saying, “Enough with the political games.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce just launched a campaign called “Fair Reform for Growth” which emphasizes that the U.S. needs reform in order to be internationally competitive. It will take cooperation from both parties, and an openness to change.
Whether Congress will listen to the constituents remains to be seen.
